The dreary winter days are upon us here in Central Illinois. Since you're probably going to be stuck inside a lot, we want to share some interior decorating tips to keep your home looking nice and get it ready to sell!

The biggest things you can do when selling is add paint, update flooring, and replace light fixtures. Paint can instantly update a tired space and make it look, feel, and even smell like new again. If you have wallpaper, it has to go. It's more than worth it to remove it; if you don't, it will take value away from your home.

When repainting your home, there are three colors we recommend from the Benjamin Moore collection. First is Halo, from the off-white connection. It's a sophisticated color with a lot of possibilities; second is Silver Fox, a grey-beige that can make rooms feel warm and cozy; lastly, Eternity from Benjamin Moore is a blue-grey that changes depending on the light being reflected and is great for rooms with windows facing the south.

Kids rooms are often covered in some wild colors. They are considered secondary in staging in that they do not have a lot of value in terms of staging. We recommend leaving them how they are unless they make the space look smaller. If there are children looking at the house, they might fall in love with the wild colors!

If you have any questions about your paint or staging options, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to help you get your home ready for the market!
