Utilize Grant Money to Finance Your Home Purchase
Today I have invited Debra Waks from First Advantage Mortgage because she has some money to give away. This money comes through the Illinois Housing Development Authority in the form of grants for first-time home buyers.

Debra is able to give a first time buyer $7,500 dollars, and to qualify as a "first time buyer" you only need to have not owned a home for three years before your purchase date.
There are different programs that offer this, such as the USDA loan for rural housing or the FHA loan.

However, if you're a veteran (and a first time buyer) you can get $10,000 dollars!

There are income limits that could prevent you from receiving these grants, but they differ by county and also depend on the number of people that will be occupying the home.

If you are single, the income limit is $59,000 and if you have a family (one child and a spouse) then your income limit to qualify is $69,000.

Be sure to act quickly to get this grant money because it will be running out soon. Also, the interest rates for these loans are quite phenomenal, and can go as low as 3.75% for a government loan.

As always, if you're searching in Central Illinois for real estate, consider me your #1 resource.
